Serious accident Saturday night in East Tyrol: A 30-year-old driver collided with full force against a concrete wall during an evasive maneuver, after which the car flipped over. The resident was rescued from the wreckage by a witness – an alcohol test was positive!
The serious accident happened around 11:15 p.m. in the municipality of Nußdorf-Debant. The 30-year-old was driving his car from Nikolsdorf towards Lienz when he suddenly came into the oncoming lane.
Evasive action ended fatally
“To avoid a collision with an oncoming vehicle, he immediately jerked the steering wheel. He then went off the road. The car hit a concrete wall and rolled over, police said.
Freed from the wreckage by witnesses
The 30-year-old was seriously injured. He was pulled from the wreckage by the driver of the oncoming car. With that, the rescue chain also started to move. After first aid at the scene of the accident, the injured person was taken by ambulance to the Lienz district hospital and, according to the police, an alcohol test was positive.
