A man alerted the police emergency number in Vienna-Favoriten on Friday morning because someone had previously shot several times with an air rifle from the window of an apartment building and would have hit him. The resident suffered minor injuries, but refused emergency services to intervene.
According to police spokeswoman Barbara Gass, a man was hit by a projectile in Puchsbaumgasse shortly before 9:30 a.m. and was slightly injured.
The police officers of the city police command in Favoriten were able to identify the apartment from which the shots came and asked for support from the WEGA special unit. The agents opened the door of the stricken apartment and were able to arrest two men: a 17-year-old Austrian and a 17-year-old Bosnian citizen.
There was a youth ban
The air rifle and its ammunition were found in the apartment and temporarily confiscated. Because a weapon ban already applies to the two suspects, a report has been filed in addition to the suspicion of physical injury and the deliberate endangerment of society under the Weapons Act. The two suspects initially gave no information about the facts, they are being held by the police.
