A little fun is a must – that is the motto of a drug driver (31), who chased a patrol around Wartberg an der Krems (Upper Austria) at 110 km/h. When he stopped after two kilometers, he said: “I think it’s funny to drive away from the police.”
During the patrol duty, police officers from Kremsmünster wanted to stop a car on the L1330 in the Wartberg an der Krems area. After activating the blue light and the subsequent horn, the driver suddenly accelerated and drove at a much too high speed, sometimes more than 110 km/h, away from the officers in the area.
After about two kilometers, the driver stopped. During the check, the 31-year-old from the Kirchdorf district gave the reason for ignoring the arrest that he did not have a driver’s license. It’s funny running away from the cops.

Because of the striking behavior, the driver was questioned about possible drug use. He admitted to being disabled, but refused to be examined or presented to a doctor. The car keys were removed and further travel was prohibited. The driver is reported to the city district and the public prosecutor’s office for multiple violations.
