Despite the drawn weapon, the moped rider (17) drove head-on into the police officer

Date:

Although the two police officers had drawn their service weapons, a 17-year-old from Linz simply drove into a police officer in the parking lot of a shopping center in Pasching. He could only save himself by jumping to the side.

Because they found a moped driver without a license plate in the parking lot of a shopping center in Upper Austrian Pasching, officers tried to get the boy under control on Friday. When the moped rider saw the officers, he accelerated and drove straight towards a police officer standing on the street. Although he screamed loudly and tried to stop the moped rider with his gun drawn, he continued to drive undaunted towards the officer.

jump aside
The policeman was only able to avoid being hit by the moped rider by jumping to the side. Despite the support of several patrols, the driver managed to escape for the time being. However, the investigations brought the officials to the 17-year-old owner of the moped from Linz. He initially denied any involvement in the crime and stated that he had lent his moped at the time of the crime.

Late confession
On Saturday, the bad conscience was apparently too great, the boy appeared at the Leonding police station to make a remorseful confession. The youngster was reported to the Linz public prosecutor’s office on suspicion of resistance to state authority and to the Linz-Land district administration for various illegal modifications to his vehicle.
