Due to a post on the social network Instagram, there was a disagreement on Sunday between two groups of young girls in Vienna-Leopoldstadt. To clarify the situation, the girls between the ages of twelve and sixteen met in the Max-Winter Platz area. A fight eventually broke out.
During the meeting, a 13-year-old was injured by a blow to the face. Earlier, the same girl threatened to kill her if she called the police. The 13-year-old and a 12-year-old also asked the other girls to hand over their mobile phones or face threats of further beating. Four girls handed out their mobile phones.
According to the Viennese police, the suspects then fled. The National Criminal Investigation Department took over the investigation into the suspicion of theft, physical injury and severe coercion.
