Bullet holes on the balcony of a house in Villach (Carinthia) and in the wall of the house led the police to a hobby hunter who was targeting pigeons and other birds.
The resident first discovered a bullet hole on the balcony of the house near Landskron last year and filed a report. “Between May 17 and 18, another hole was discovered on the balcony and another near the house wall under a window,” the police said. “According to the daughter of the 87-year-old homeowner, her mother spends a lot of time there.”
Neighbor tried to shoot pigeons
The homeowner named her 68-year-old neighbor as a suspect because he often tries to shoot pigeons and other birds from the power pole. “The officers then contacted the neighbour, who immediately confessed – he was unaware that the shots had been fired on the balcony and endangered the neighbour,” police continued. “His small caliber weapon has been seized.”
A provisional gun ban has been issued against the 68-year-old and he is accused of endangering physical safety and animal cruelty.
