The employees of a gas station on April 14 in Ragnitzstrasse in Graz and just a day later in Weiz on Gleisdorfer Strasse got the fright of their lives: a stranger held a gun to their faces and demanded money. The police are now publishing the robber’s photos on the orders of the Graz Public Prosecutor’s Office and are requesting information from the public.
The modus operandi was the same in both cases: shortly before closing time, a man in a mask entered the gas station and initially pretended to go shopping. He picked up a beer from the shelf and set it on the counter. But instead of paying, he suddenly pulled out a gun and demanded money. After stashing cash, beer and a gun in a cloth bag, he fled.
Perpetrator with a carnival mask
Due to the same procedure, the police assume the same perpetrator in both cases. The criminal is described as follows: During the crime, he wore a distinctive gray hooded sweatshirt with black inserts. He was masked with a half mask – probably wearing a carnival mask with a big nose and monobrow. Under his right eye he has a dark skin defect, possibly a heart-shaped tattoo.
Who recognizes him and can give hints? Please report – also anonymously – to the National Investigation Department on 059133/60 3333.
