A large contingent of emergency services had to divert to a traffic accident in St. Andrä in the Lavanttal (Carinthia) on Wednesday afternoon. A person from Völkermarkt crashed his car head-on into a power pole and had to be rescued by the helpers.
A 63-year-old from Völkermarkt was driving on B 70 Packerstrasse around 12:45 am. In the area of the municipality of St. Andrä im Lavanttal, he left the lane to the right and drove over road control systems.
He then crashed his car head-on into a telephone pole, where he came to rest on its side. The driver was removed from the car by a total of three fire brigades with 30 emergency services and taken to the LKH Wolfsberg with the rescue service.
The car was a total loss and the driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
