At least three people were killed and fourteen injured in a Russian missile attack on Kiev, according to Ukrainian sources. Two children were among the fatalities, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said Thursday morning. According to the military administration, the cruise missiles were shot down on the ground around 3 a.m. local time.
The debris of the launched cruise missiles would have led to many casualties and great damage. “According to the doctors, 14 people were injured in the Dniprovsky and Desnyansky districts, nine had to be hospitalized,” Klitschko wrote on Telegram.
‘They are killing Ukrainian children’
“It’s Children’s Day. And the racists are carrying out another attack on our capital and killing. Killing Ukrainian children,” Serhiy Popko, the chief of Kiev’s military administration, told Telegram. The word “racists” is a combination from ‘Rascha’, as Russia is pronounced in English, and fascist, which has been used since the beginning of the war as a term of abuse for the Russian occupiers in Ukraine.
Kiev is not resting
It was not until Tuesday that Kiev and other places in central and northern Ukraine came under massive Russian fire. A fire in a high-rise building caused by falling debris in the capital has left at least one person dead and several injured.
