All about discounts for young people to travel in the summer

The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda of the Spanish government has been activated discounts up to 90% to make it easier for young people between the ages of 18 and 30 to travel by public transport this summer, both in Spain and in Europe.

The discounts are applied to single and return tickets for state-owned trains and buses and of the fit interrail who have a travel date between June 15 and September 15, 2023.

To be a beneficiary it is necessary to register hereat least, 24 hours before the first purchase to check whether the eligibility requirements have been met. After registration you will receive one code which must be provided to the operator when purchasing the ticket for the discount.

Companies start selling tickets at a discount as they adjust their systems. The operators’ usual web pages and channels will provide more information.

Requirements

These are the requirements that must be met to benefit from the new measure:

– Conventional medium-distance and metric gauge rail services: 90% discount on the price of single and return tickets

– ahead: 50% discount on single and return tickets

– Commercial or high-speed services of all railway companies: discount of 50% on the ticket price, with a maximum of 30 euros per ticket

– State competition regular bus services: discount of 90% on the price of the single ticket and the return ticket

– Interrail Global Flexible 50% discount 10 days in 2 months when marketed through Renfe
