“Please wait!” is the timely message for drivers on an important road to Slovenia. The reason for this is renovation work on a gas pipeline.
If you are currently driving towards Slovenia on Lippitzbacher Straße, you should expect waiting times. Renovation work is taking place on the gas pipeline in the municipality of Ruden. One of the five compression stations of the Trans Austria Gas Pipeline (TAG) is located there. The company’s pipeline system connects Austria to Italy.
The work will last until the end of June
Mayor Rudolf Skorjanz: “The construction work has been approved by the district authority.” Traffic on both sides of Lippitzbacher Strasse is therefore controlled by traffic lights. Waiting times and congestion are the result. TAG spokeswoman Alexandra Vit-Sardelic: “Planned maintenance on the insulation is carried out on the gas pipeline located there. The work will last until the end of June.”
