A ride on the Tyrolean Inntal Autobahn A12 near Zirl (Innsbruck-Land district) ended Sunday night for a young man and a young woman in hospital. A drunk 41-year-old had hit the two’s car and caused an accident.
The collision happened around 4 a.m. on Sunday. Coming from Innsbruck, a 19-year-old resident drove west, with a 20-year-old in the passenger seat. A 41-year-old Bosnian drove behind the car. For unknown reasons, he collided with the rear of the leading car in the municipality of Zirl. Both vehicles then skidded and came to rest in the emergency lane.
The driver of the accident was not injured
The 19-year-old and his passenger were injured in the accident. After treatment by the emergency doctor, they were taken to the hospital in Zams. The 41-year-old who caused the accident was not injured. However, after the officers had performed a positive alcohol test on him, the man lost his driver’s license for the time being.
