Attacks on Belgorod – Polish volunteers on Russian territory

Date:

The Russian anti-Kremlin militias that have been fighting against the Russian army in the Belgorod border area since the end of May apparently also receive Polish support. At least that is what a Polish volunteer unit claims, which also substantiates this with messages on social media.

On their Telegram channel, the Polish Volunteer Corps explains: “Everyone asks us: ‘Did we participate in the operation on the territory of the Belgorod region?’ The answer is clear: of course!” As proof, some photos and videos “from the trip” were posted, in the videos you can actually hear conversations in Polish.

The Russian military recently said that communications in Polish had actually been heard during the numerous attacks carried out by the “Russian Volunteer Corps” and the “Legion Freedom of Russia” since the end of May. According to the Polish news site Onet, the Polish Volunteer Corps was established in February this year with the help of the Ukrainian army. Its members would be responsible for sabotage and reconnaissance.

Since they are not members of the regular Polish army, they are not NATO soldiers under international law now operating on Russian territory. Nevertheless, Poland’s activities for Russian war propaganda are another “evidence” of struggle against NATO.

evacuations in border areas
Meanwhile, the situation for the civilian population in the border area of Belgorod appears to be becoming increasingly dangerous. After days of shelling, the authorities have now called on the residents of the villages there to come to safety. He asked the inhabitants of the villages of the Shebekino district to heed the calls of the authorities and “temporarily leave their homes,” Belgorod governor Vyacheslav Gladkov told Telegram on Sunday. It was another “restless night” in Schebekino with “a lot of damage,” Gladkov reported. The goal now is to “protect the most important thing: your life and the lives of your loved ones”.

More than 4,000 people are already being housed in temporary shelters in the Belgorod region, Gladkov said. On Sunday, minors from border villages and children of soldiers fighting in Ukraine must be taken to youth camps, he announced.

Russian attack: 2-year-old child killed
In its war of aggression, Russia had fired more missiles and drones at Ukraine and especially Kiev in recent days than at any time since the invasion began. The Ukrainian air defense repeatedly reported that all or almost all of these flying objects were shot down thanks to the Western defense systems. Yet there were deaths and injuries. Debris from launched missiles and drones also leave massive damage to buildings, cars and roads. On Sunday night, a two-year-old girl was killed in a bombing in a suburb of the city of Dnipro. Authorities also reported 22 injured, including five children, early Sunday morning.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in Kiev on Saturday night: “Russia has once again shown that it is a terrorist state.” The head of state published a video (see above) showing a completely destroyed two-storey building. Rescue workers were still searching for survivors. Ten private homes, a car, a shop and gas pipelines were also damaged in the area on Sunday, according to authorities.
