The police in Rennes, western France, wanted to monitor a demonstration against pension reforms with a drone. However, she encountered unusual resistance – and not from the demonstrators, who regularly protest air surveillance, but from feathered “demonstrators”.
According to a report in the Nice-Matin newspaper, the birds attacked the drone several times, which was filmed and commented on by participants in the demonstration.
“The seagulls are on our side,” one protester wrote. The Breton seagulls would have chased away the drone.
“Go, Go, Goeland”
People shouted “The gulls are with us” and “Go, go, Goéland,” the French word for seagull, the paper said.
