In the middle of Neusiedl, a tractor collides with a parcel delivery van

Date:

Another illegal carrier broke through the border in Halbturn. With 15 migrants in the hold, the tug raced along the eastern highway. An accident happened on the main street in Neusiedl am See (Burgenland). The driver has been arrested.

Just a week ago, as reported, a smuggler drove 19 Syrians in a van through the Halbturn border crossing. The breakout, which had already begun in Hungary as part of “Operation Fox”, continued at high speed in the Neusiedl am See district. The criminal driver thundered across the street at a speed of 180 km / h. The Mönchhof motorway exit was the end of the line for him. At 60 km/h he had rammed a patrol car that was parked sideways. The 17-year-old Moldovan walked into a field and was caught shortly afterwards.

Raced through the places
Similar dramatic scenes occurred around 10 a.m. Tuesday. Once again, a smuggler ignored the stop signs at the Halbturn border crossing and sped past the checkpoint. The driver of a blue van raced through the villages at far too high a speed.

Alarm activated
A dozen police cars were deployed. In the crosshairs of the detectives, the ruthless perpetrator fled to Mönchhof and then onto the A4. From there he turned to Neusiedl. There was an accident near a driving school on Obere Hauptstraße. The tractor had come to a stop against the car of a parcel deliverer from the post office. A tire burst.

perpetrators removed
Shortly afterwards the driver, presumably a Belgian, was arrested. He had transported 15 refugees, packed together, in the hold of his blue Mercedes Sprinter. After the accident, the migrants roamed the city center. They were caught.

witnesses baffled
“How long can unscrupulous human traffickers rampage through our villages? It is probably only a matter of time before something bad happens,” said a concerned passerby. The investigation lasted several hours.

Way too dangerous
Time and time again, people smugglers endanger others during their illegal transport of refugees. On highways and highways, they try to push their pursuers away in a wild zigzag course. During their hellish drive through cities, stop signs are ignored and barriers are even crossed – always a risk for road users and on-duty police officers.

“Respond quickly!”
FPÖ district chairman Mario Jaksch is critical: “This time the breakneck chase went right through the entire district of Neusiedl am See. Are you really waiting long enough to catch students, cyclists or innocent passers-by who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time?”

According to Jaksch, authorities and government have a responsibility not only to protect the well-being of our citizens, but also to provide comprehensive and correct information: “Political PR shows at our border are not enough.”
