“Today we managed to 50 women, children and the elderly from Azovstal. Tomorrow morning we will continue with the evacuation operation,” Vereshchuk said via Telegram.
According to the Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister the evacuation was complexwith “constant violations” of the ceasefire by Russian troops, who continue to fight Ukrainian troops at the steel plant.
The caravan to evacuate the refugees at the steel mill “has been forced to stay near Azovstal all day” because there have been “fights and other provocations. The enemy has continuously violated the ceasefire”.
The fate of the evacuees will be Zaporizhzhyawhere Ukrainian authorities have concentrated most of the civilians evacuated from the steel mill.
