While the Austrians in the west can look forward to more sun again from Friday, it remains to be seen to the east. The focus of showers will be in the east and southeast leading up to the weekend. As a result, it remains very restless in the rest of Austria, with alternating sun and clouds. During the day, the chance of rain and thunderstorms increases.
Although showers are expected in the east and south-east of Austria on Friday, high temperatures of up to 28 degrees are expected in the west daily. Saturday will then start with some remaining clouds – especially in the north and east. On the other hand, it will be quite sunny in the west and south.
Early summer temperatures over the weekend
However, cumulus clouds should form in all parts of the country during the day. While remaining mostly flat and harmless in the west, some showers and thunderstorms will result, especially in the east and south. Once again, heavy rainfall is expected locally. Daily maximum temperatures will also reach 23 to 28 degrees on Saturday, again in the west.
Scattered showers in the north and northeast
On Sunday, the eastern Alpine region will again experience a northeasterly current on the edge of a high mountain center over the Baltics. This means that cumulus clouds form again, especially in the mountains, with subsequent showers of rain. A few showers are also expected in the north and northeast in the first half of the day. Rain showers remain rarer in the rest of the country. Eleven to 17 degrees are expected in the morning hours, after which the values rise again to 23 to 28 degrees, with the highest values in Vorarlberg.
Monday the sun will shine during the day. Even in the afternoon, cumulus clouds over the mountains hardly bring any rain showers. At the beginning of the week, maximum daytime temperatures of up to 29 degrees can even be reached in the west.
Cooling is expected on Tuesday
On Tuesday, a low center lies in high layers above Austria. This is weather-effective from the first half of the day in eastern Austria with dense clouds and partly heavy rain showers. There is also a noticeable cooling down compared to the previous days. The West expects more sun and summer temperatures again. During the day the maximum temperature is 17 degrees.
