The police caught several traffic offenders during their focus check in the city of Salzburg on Sunday night. A cyclist was particularly drunk on the road.
A motorist was driving on Schmiedingerstrasse around 9 p.m., who could barely stay in his lane and was not driving at a constant speed. A 26-year-old from Flachgau was in the car. The police officers tested him positive for narcotics, he had no alcohol in his blood. They took the driver to the GGD, which issued a certificate of unfitness. He was not allowed to continue driving and had to temporarily surrender his driver’s license. He also receives a warning.
After midnight, the officials on Kröbenfeldstraße (Salzburg-Maxglan) noticed a cyclist who wanted to drive out of the city in meandering lines. They took the 52-year-old out around 1:10 a.m. and performed an alcohol test. The cyclist had 2.02 per thousand alcohol in the blood. He had to walk home and is reported.
