At around 1:30 p.m., the 53-year-old walked with the five-year-old girl in the municipality of Mieders on a hiking trail from Koppeneck towards Gasthof Sonnenstein, passing a group of cows. “For unknown reasons, the cows attacked the two people,” police said.
Both hikers were taken to hospital
The girl – an Austrian citizen – received serious injuries, the man was seriously injured. The two had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital in Hall in Tirol.
