On Monday, a fire in Vienna raises questions: emergency services were called to a heavily smoky apartment. Two fires were located and extinguished. The owners of the apartment were not on site – only a cat was found that had died in the flames. The Viennese police assume that the fire was started deliberately. Now the search for the fire devil has begun.
It was around 10:40 p.m. when heavy smoke developed in a Viennese apartment. The Viennese professional fire brigade, the police and also the professional rescue services were immediately alerted. The fire was quickly extinguished by the emergency services with respiratory protection and the stairwell was ventilated.
Dead cat found in apartment
The investigation was then carried out on site by the fire investigators of the Vienna Criminal Investigation Department: two fire sources were located in the apartment. Fortunately, the owners were not in the home at the time of the fire and no one was injured. Unfortunately, there was a cat in the house at the time of the incident. She perished in the flames.
The police now assume deliberate arson. The apartment is currently not habitable. Now the fire devil must be found. The investigation by the fire brigade of the Viennese criminal investigation department is still ongoing.
