After the major fire that broke out on a business site in Villach on Sunday, fire investigators are providing the first details about the cause.
A thick column of smoke spread over Villach on Father’s Day: several warehouses went up in flames. The cause of the fire has been under investigation since Monday. The first details will become available on Thursday. “We do not assume third-party debts. It is probably a technical defect,” says Werner Mohorko, head of the fire investigator at the Carinthian Criminal Investigation Department. “But the investigations are still ongoing, an additional report will identify the cause of the fire one hundred percent.”
The site is currently being cleaned up. Company owner and warehouse lessor Bernhard Plasounig: “We will definitely renovate!”
