It’s every parent’s nightmare! Two girls aged 4 and 5 were dragged into the toilet and groped by a man in a swimming pool in Schwaz, Tyrol, on Wednesday afternoon. The suspect is a 36-year-old Austrian. He was detained by employees until police arrived. Now the alleged sex offender is in custody!
Police say the assault happened around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The 36-year-old suspect is said to have pulled the two girls into a men’s room, locked the cubicle and then groped the children there.
Mother and passers-by sounded the alarm
The mother had already looked for her two children. “After she and several swimmers were made aware of the situation, the 36-year-old was stopped by pool staff until police arrived, the detectives said.
Suspect detained in cash register
The alleged perpetrator, who was detained in the cash register by the lifeguard and cashier according to information from “Krone”, was eventually apprehended by the police. He didn’t resist.
During a first interrogation, the Austrian – according to the police not a Tyrolean – confessed. He was imprisoned in Innsbruck prison by order of the public prosecutor.
