Since Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozchin has so far refused to subordinate his notorious mercenary group to the Russian Defense Ministry, his men are not entitled to social benefits from the state. The billionaire therefore took the initiative himself and simply donated his own car to the wife of a deceased Wagner fighter. As it turned out, Putin’s “cook” violated not only martial law, but also traffic rules – and very often.
On the evening of June 14, Prigozhin’s press service published a video in which the founder of the Wagner mercenary group stands at the grave of a fallen mercenary, with the family of the deceased soldier next to him. He asks the deceased’s wife if she needs help. The woman replies that her vehicle needs to be repaired. Prigozhin then said he just gave her his car and handed her the key, as reported by independent Russian news site Cholod.
“We are not going to repair your car, just take it with you. And you can sell the old one and use the proceeds to renovate the house. Because the state has not provided any benefits so far,” said Prigozhin. If there were taxes, he would cover expenses, he added, then called a cab and drove off.

According to Cholod, the car is a Haval H9, built in 2022. It costs about four million rubles (about 43,500 euros). Journalists checked the vehicle and want to find out that the car would have received as many as 470 fines between August 22, 2022 and March 15, 2023. Most fines were therefore imposed for speeding. In December alone, the driver would have received 89 parking fines, in January 95.
On January 22, 19 fines would have been handed out to the car. At that time, fierce fighting raged in the cities of Bakhmut and Soledar. On that day, Prigozhin picked up former prisoners who had fought their way out of Ukraine from the airport and were apparently in a hurry.
And even on June 15, when the mercenary was on his way to meet the deceased combatant’s family, he allegedly received a ticket – again for speeding.
