Serious paragliding accident Thursday in Vorarlberg: Shortly before the base station “Niedere” in Andelsbuch, the paraglider of a 57-year-old man collapsed and fell to the ground from a height of five meters in free flight. He was injured so badly that he had to be flown to Feldkirch Regional Hospital.
The 57-year-old was already 100 meters from his destination, the valley station “Niedere” in Andelsbuch in the Bregenzerwald, when the accident happened: the paraglider suddenly collapsed for unknown reasons. The man then fell uncontrollably from a height of five meters to the ground.
Athletes suffered serious injuries
His injuries were so serious that he had to be flown by rescue helicopter to Feldkirch Regional Hospital. Before that, however, the 57-year-old received first aid from the emergency doctor immediately at the scene of the accident.
