According to local media, 25 students were killed in an attack on a school in southwestern Uganda. Eight others were reportedly injured and some kidnapped.
Authorities suspected that rebels from the ADF (Allied Democratic Forces), believed to be linked to the Central African branch of the Islamist terrorist militia Islamic State, were behind the attack. The religious fundamentalists have been terrorizing the population for quite some time now.
The Ugandan newspaper “Daily Monitor” also reported on Friday evening about the attack on a secondary school in the town of Mpondwe, not far from the Congolese border. Accordingly, the armed attackers also allegedly set fire to a dormitory and looted the food supplies.
