The prime minister’s call for economic stability comes at a time when the former British colony faces huge liquidity problems and is desperate for financial aid from friendly countries and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The country’s foreign exchange reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan totaled about €7.7 billion, down about €600 million from €8.3 billion on July 29.
