Several people were injured in a storm in a Chinese city last weekend as employees and guests tried to save the roof of a restaurant that was shaken by strong winds. Not a good idea: the roof came off and threw several people up with it.
The drama took place in the city of Yichang. When a severe storm swept through the city, countless diners sat under the awning of a restaurant that was shaken violently by the storm. Employees and guests alike held onto the support poles to prevent the canopy from flying off, as shown in a video.
But suddenly the roof was hit by a strong gust of wind and lifted in its entirety, including several people on board. Some people were thrown meters high into the air. Several injured people eventually had to be taken to hospital. Fortunately, everyone escaped with only minor injuries.
