“Hard Worker” – Climate Glue Attack: Rage Driver Gets Help

Date:

The trial after the attack on climate glue in January caused a stir: even last-generation victim of violence Jacob Ranftl (29) would have nothing against a lesser sentence for his tormentor. The FPÖ was not long in coming and provided legal assistance to the convicted transport company.

Emotions ran high when the driver was convicted, who cursed loudly and aggressively tried to remove air conditioning glue from the street on the Vienna Ring Road. As the “Krone” reported, the 40-year-old transport company was given three months for coercion and disruption of a meeting. In addition, the man must follow anti-aggression training.

The public prosecutor’s office took action on its own initiative
Curious: even victim of violence Jacob Ranftl (29) reported on the verdict: “The court could have imposed a lesser sentence because of me.” The activists had not reported the perpetrator (only published the video). The public prosecutor acted on his own initiative. “It is not our concern to report people, but to convince the government to do more climate protection,” says last-generation Marina Hagen-Canaval.

Physical attacks during meetings are not uncommon. “Especially when politicians once again scorn and insult us as terrorists,” Hagen-Canaval said.

FPÖ contacted the transport company
A politician, the Viennese FPÖ boss Dominik Nepp, also became active on Monday after the trial: “It cannot be the case that a hardworking worker is convicted just because he defends himself against climate terrorists. That is why we are offering him legal aid.”

Lawyer Peter Skolek has already been instructed to review the verdict on all points and to appeal.
