In the Basque Autonomous Community, 1,257 mortgages were signed in April, 34.1% less than the previous month, and 306 in Navarre, 40.1% less.
The number of mortgages on houses fell by 19.8% in April in the Basque Autonomous Community (CAV) and by 26.4% in Navarre, compared to the same month of the previous year.
According to data published this Thursday by the National Statistics Institute (INE), in Alava, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa a total of 1,257 residential mortgages, a decrease of 34.1% per month compared to March. Debt amounts to 196,930 euros, 35.2% more than in March and 23.0% less than in April 2022.
Talk about Navarre, 306 mortgage contracts were concluded, representing a decrease of 26.4% compared to the same month of 2022 and 40.1% less than in March. Loan capital in Navarre fell by 25.7% compared to the same month in 2022 to EUR 63.5 million.
In the Spanish statethe number of mortgages issued on homes fell by 18.3% in April compared to the same period in 2022. The average amount of these mortgages fell by 4.1% to EUR 136,945.
