The stork that got its beak stuck in a Coke can in France is no longer alive. The animal had lost too much weight, according to the bird shelter where it was treated.
The bird could not eat or drink for several days and was too weak. As reported, a farmer saw and photographed the stork in its predicament about two weeks ago. When he tried to help him, he flew away. Then there was excitement about the animal in France.
Students saw the stork on Tuesday in the eastern part of Burgundy near the town of Tournus. The fire brigade came with a drone to locate the bird and caught it with a net.
The drink can was then pulled from the weakened stork’s beak, rendering it unable to eat or drink. In the meantime, however, it is a sad certainty that the help came too late.
