It made a real bang, then the plank fell over. A car had driven into a department store in Bad Wimsbach-Neydharting and had a dent in the wall. Inside, a customer was injured as a result of the accident.
A 55-year-old from Vienna got into his car around 5:45 p.m. on Thursday after shopping at a store in Bad Wimsbach-Neydharting and wanted to stow a drinking bottle in the back of the vehicle. The man may have accidentally pressed the accelerator, causing his car to collide head-on with the department store.
The force of the impact crushed the outer wall of the building so badly that a shelf in the market was ripped out and toppled over. A 45-year-old customer who was in the store was hit by the falling shelf in the tibia area and suffered minor injuries.
