A Carinthian was pelted with stones on Thursday evening. When the 47-year-old tried to confront the attacker, the man attacked St. Veiter and injured his head. Only information from the population led to the alleged perpetrator.
For completely unknown reasons, the man threw stones at the 47-year-old in the middle of St. Veit. “When he confronted the person, he would have been provoked and lured into an alley,” police said. The 19-year-old – also from St. Veit – then hit his friend on the head with a hard object.
The 47-year-old suffered head injuries in the attack. After the medical first aid, the rescue service took the injured to the clinic in Klagenfurt.
Population gives crucial tip
After the attack, the 19-year-old fled. An immediate manhunt was initially unsuccessful. Only tips from the population led the police to the attacker’s apartment. The 19-year-old was arrested there.
First, the precise circumstances of the crime must be clarified. The 19-year-old will be reported to the Klagenfurt public prosecutor’s office after completion of the investigation.
