Roots instead of clouds – career changers: the Tyrolean meteorologist became a teacher

Date:

Roman Sandner from Sistrans has recently become a teacher. A career changer. What made him make the switch? The chaotic sky. The “Krone” spoke to him about his new calling and the many positive experiences since then.

Square roots instead of cumulus clouds, parent’s day instead of polar expeditions, chalkboards instead of satellite images. The Tyrolean Roman Sandner has covered a wide professional spectrum. Although, “he’s not that far,” says the teacher. The 42-year-old has sufficient vocational qualifications for mathematics and physics classes. The qualified meteorologist cannot apply all his knowledge of weather and climate to his students at the Akademisches Gymnasium in Innsbruck (AGI) and the HTL Jenbach.
