United States President Joe Biden signed a law Monday to speed up arms shipments to Ukraine. The signing of the bill comes just as the US administration has nearly exhausted the $13.6 billion military aid to Ukraine approved by Congress last March.
Pentagon spokesman John Kirby has indicated that the aid will be ready by the third week of May.
Within this aid, Biden announced last Friday a $150 million package to deliver arms, ammunition and humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
Facing the impending end of Congress-approved funds, Biden has asked lawmakers to give the green light to an additional $33 billion for Ukraine.
