“This totally wins my case, you know? Except it’s top secret,” Trump stated in July 2021 audio files, referring to files on an alleged U.S. plan to invade Iran.
The American chain CNN has published an audio of the former president of the United States donald trump in which he admits to having in possession of documents “top secret”, which would belie his previous claims that he had previously released these files.
“This totally wins my case, you know? Except it’s highly confidential”Trump stated in some July 2021 audios in reference to some files about an alleged US plan to invade Iran that he shared with other people on his team who did not have access to said information.
“You see, as president I could have released them. I can’t right now, you know, but this is still top secret.”added the ex-president, trying to show that plans for war with Iran existed before his arrival at the White House.
“I’ll give you an example. He said I wanted to attack Iran. (…) I was shown this (this is unofficial). This was his. This was both his and the US Department of Defense. (…) This was not planned by me”Trump assured in some recordings he was aware of, according to CNN.
The former president has repeatedly denied wrongdoing and also assured that he had the right to have documents he had already “unilaterally released without going through a formal process”.
