A 47-year-old driver from the Leoben district (Upper Austria) died on Tuesday in a collision with a truck near Weyer (Steyr-Land district). At 12:50 p.m., she turned left from Weyerer Strasse (B 121) onto Eisenstrasse (B 115), the truck hitting her car head-on near the driver’s door, dragging it about 50 meters, the Upper Austrian police reported.
The truck driver had tried to avoid a collision with evasive maneuvers. It entered the oncoming lane, causing an oncoming driver to swerve to the right and crash into the guardrail. The 44-year-old came to a stop with his car between the crash barrier and the truck.

The woman was trapped in her vehicle and was freed by firefighters. She died at the scene of the accident.
