Tragic mountain accident in Tyrol: A 59-year-old mountaineer, who had been missing since Monday, was found dead on Tuesday morning during a search along the Inntaler Höhenweg. The local had fallen 200 meters during the walk.
The locals started the hike from the Glungezer Hütte on Monday morning. Apparently he wanted to march on the Inntaler Höhenweg towards Matrei. However, the 59-year-old never got there.

Sad certainty after search flight
A major search was launched later that evening. On Tuesday morning, there was finally sad certainty: during the operation, the body of the man could be found from the police helicopter in the area of the Gamslahnerspitze located and then recovered.
For unknown reasons, the 59-year-old fell about 200 meters over steep terrain and suffered fatal injuries.
