Two police officers from the Preindlgasse inspection in Vienna-Hietzing saved two rabbits from imminent death on the road on Wednesday. After their rescue in the Lilienberggasse area near Hackinger Kai, they were provisionally admitted to the Tierquartier Wien.
A different type of house search took place around 2 p.m. on Wednesday when passers-by suddenly raised the alarm. The agents of the Preindlgasse Police Inspectorate were called to the busy Hackinger Kai.
Rabbits escaped and got lost in the street
The reason for the action turned out to be animal issues. Two rabbits got lost on the road and tried in vain to hide behind a noise barrier. The animals had probably escaped their owners before.
The officials caught the escaped animals and provided them with water and carrots during a police inspection. Animal protection Vienna took over the animals. The two balls of wool are currently in good health in Vienna’s animal district and are waiting for their owners.
