A vacationer from Linz grabbed the wrong bottle and set fire to himself and the campsite in Bavaria!
In this case it wasn’t oil – but you shouldn’t pour gasoline into the fire either! A Linzer felt it painfully at a campsite on the Kochelsee in Bavaria: illegally anyway, the holidaymaker (21) lit a campfire at night – with the help of petrol, which he had filled in a drinking bottle.
Picked the wrong bottle
As the flames rose higher and higher, he tried to put out the fire. In the heat of the moment, however, he used the wrong bottle: instead of water, he “extinguished” the fire with even more gasoline.
The flames spread to the Linzer, within seconds it became a living torch. The fire also spread to more than 10 square meters of the campsite. Other holidaymakers came to the aid of the victim, extinguished the fire and were able to prevent an even greater disaster.
Investigations against victims of fire
The 21-year-old was taken to hospital with severe burns and a criminal investigation was launched against him.
