Thanks to roof renovation, the tenants of a municipal building in Vienna now have more problems instead of fewer. In addition, the renovation work is taking much longer than feared – with numerous bankruptcies, breakdowns and breakdowns.
The chaos clearance of the community building at Jedleseerstraße 79 (we reported) is happily continuing after ten years. In addition to dirt and noise, the tenants also have to deal with faulty work by the construction companies.
The most recent example
Andrea T., who lives on the top floor, suffered extensive water damage because the roof above, which had been removed for a complete renovation, was not properly sealed. When it rains heavily, the water runs through the ceiling into the Viennese woman’s apartment. According to her statement, calls to Wiener Wohnen have so far yielded no result.
Can happen…
A spokeswoman for the company says that “measures have been taken to prevent the intrusion of weather influences” during the construction work, but that such a thing can never be completely ruled out. “For any damaging event, such as an accidental intrusion of rainwater, the damage is fully repaired as soon as possible, usually within a few days,” it continues.
Waiting for repair
But not in the case of Andrea T. This is now supported by FPÖ housing ombudsman Michael Niegl, who also turned unsuccessfully to Wiener Wohnen. “This madness must come to an end immediately, Wiener Wohnen has completely failed here as a construction supervisor. Last but not least, City Councilor Gaál, who watched the crowds idly, is responsible for this,” FPÖ state party chairman Dominik Nepp criticized.
