Insuring robots: did not plan an uprising!

Date:

Do robots want to take over the world? No, say nine humanoid machines at a historic press conference in Geneva. But some of their answers sound more like the beginning of a horror movie.

Human-like robots reassured journalists at a press conference in Geneva: no uprising is planned and artificial intelligence (AI) brings the most in collaboration with humans. Based on the information they feed in, the machines can provide reasonably meaningful answers to reporters’ questions within seconds, as they demonstrated at a technology show Friday.

Robot demands apology from reporter
They used a lot of empty talk and platitudes – which is no different for some real politicians or pundits. For example, “Ameca” was asked if she was planning an uprising against her creator. The robot head frowned and his eyes widened in mock indignation. “I’m not sure how you got the question,” she replied in a brisk and indignant tone. “My Maker has always been nothing but kind to me.” After a pause, she added, “I think you should apologize.”

According to the organizers, the first press conference with nine humanoid robots took place at the trade fair “Artificial Intelligence for Good Causes” in Geneva. UN organizations and developers come together to investigate how the combination of robots and AI can be used to promote the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

A robot was asked if robots could be better heads of government. “Sophia” on this: “I think humanoid robots can be more efficient than human leaders.” Robots have no prejudices or emotions, but use data. She then added that it would be best if humans and AI worked together. “Together we can achieve great things.”
