A family with two little girls (four, seven) wanted to see the sunset on the Bavarian Rossfeld panorama road – instead they got involved in a terrible accident because an Upper Austrian (22) attempted a fatal stunt.
Was it carelessness that cost the 22-year-old his life? The motorcyclist was on Saturday evening with a 19-year-old from Hallein at a motorcycle group in the Berchtesgaden district. To film driving maneuvers they stopped on the panoramic road. According to the Bavarian police, the 19-year-old was standing near the road for filming. As the 22-year-old raced towards him, he lost control of his motorcycle. At full speed, he caught the filmer, who was flung away and seriously injured.
Hit-and-run girl with motorcycle
The man from Vöcklabruck then slid his machine into the two little girls, both of whom suffered serious leg injuries. He then crashed into the family car. The girls were flown by helicopter to Salzburg State Hospital, as was the 19-year-old from Hallein, whose condition was described as “very critical” by the emergency doctor.
All help too late for motorcyclists
Despite CPR, all help came too late for the 22-year-old from Vöcklabruck, who died at the scene of the accident. The girls’ parents were shocked.
