The quad of the two Carinthians hit a stone in a left turn on Sunday and rolled over several times. The driver and passenger were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A 30-year-old from the Spittal district steered a quad bike on a gravel forest road in Sachsenburg on Sunday evening.
Traveling too fast?
He was probably going too fast and possibly made a brake error: the quad hit a rock on a left turn, spun and rolled over several times. The driver and his passenger (33) were thrown from the vehicle. Neither had worn a helmet.
Another quad driver alerted the rescue services. The rescue helicopter RK1 team flew the two seriously injured to the clinic in Klagenfurt.
