Wild scenes on a Sunday afternoon in Linz (Upper Austria). Instead of a grilled dinner, there was a major firefighting operation. A gas grill caught fire. But that wasn’t the only problem.
In a residential area in Linz-Ebelsberg there was a major fire service around 7.15 pm. A family home was on fire. A gas grill caught fire. From there, the fire spread over two umbrellas and the wooden balustrade of the balcony above to the roof of the house.
No injuries
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. The FF Ebelsberg was deployed with 17 members and all three vehicles together with the professional fire brigade Linz quickly brought the fire under control. They were on duty until 10:30 p.m. to prevent the fire from flaring up again.
Walking to the fire due to a traffic jam
“On a side note, the emergency services of the Ebelsberg fire department were – due to the tunnel closure of the Mona-Lisa tunnel – in their private cars on their way to the fire station and had to park the car and walk to the station, causing delays at driving out the emergency services,” according to a broadcast by FF Ebelsberg.
