Accident drama on Sunday in the Innviertel (Upper Austria). A fatal traffic accident took place in the evening in the municipality of Gilgenberg am Weilhart. A 29-year-old man had flipped his car several times.
The 29-year-old driver from Schwand im Innkreis drove his car around 8:30 p.m. on the L1029 Handenberger Landesstraße from Gilgenberg in the direction of Handenberg. Then the drama: for reasons that have not yet been clarified, his car ended up on the shoulder of the roadway in a left turn.
Numerous fire brigades in action
The vehicle drove uncontrollably over a slope and rolled over several times into the adjacent meadow. The 29-year-old was fatally injured as a result of the traffic accident. A total of three fire brigades with six vehicles and 45 firefighters, the helicopter Christopherus 14 from Traunstein, the Red Cross Eggelsberg and three employees of the Red Cross crisis intervention team were involved in the operation.
