In a missing person case involving a German businessman who had disappeared in Thailand, there is sad certainty: the 62-year-old was found chopped to pieces in a freezer in a terraced house in a village near Pattaya on Monday evening.
Hans-Peter Mack has been missing since July 4. Surveillance camera footage had only recently surfaced, raising fears that the German had been the victim of a crime – this suspicion should now have been confirmed, as “The Pattaya News” reported. The businessman was allegedly tortured, dismembered and then placed in a freezer.
According to Thai media, the driver may already have a suspect in mind. An arrest warrant has already been issued against another German citizen.
The last photos show how victims meet a woman
Mack had lived in Thailand and worked there as a real estate agent. Shortly before the disappearance, according to “Bild”, a lucrative trade was going on. A villa on Koh Samui and a boxing hall have to change hands for more than 18 million euros. For this, the businessman met a previously unknown woman, according to surveillance recordings – according to the German newspaper, she has already been arrested. These are probably the last photos on which the German can be seen alive.
The fatal victim’s mobile phone sent the last signal from Sa Kaeo province, about 230 kilometers from Pattaya. A few days later, the victim’s car also appeared, which, according to the police, had been thoroughly cleaned. The police are convinced: “They wanted to destroy evidence.” Shortly after the disappearance, the equivalent of 52,000 euros was transferred to an account abroad. Investigators say three suspects have already been questioned.
