The series of fatal accidents in the Tyrolean mountains does not stop: on Tuesday, a 67-year-old fell from the ridge during a tour in Imst, the man should have died immediately.
The 67-year-old resident wanted to go over the Maldongrat towards the Gabelspitze (2,581 meters). From a previously unknown cause, it fell onto the exposed ridge about 100 yards southwest of the Gabelspitze, on the northern side over steep and rocky terrain. The 67-year-old slid down a gravel channel, where he came to a stop after about 150 meters.

The hiker suffered fatal injuries in the process and was found by a 32-year-old German mountaineer who followed. The woman set the rescue chain in motion. The victim was rescued with the help of a rope with the rescue helicopter “Martin 2”.
