There is still excitement about an illegal transport of 46 migrants in a truck at the border in Nickelsdorf in Burgenland. The escaped driver, accomplice of a mafia gang of smugglers, had recently been imprisoned in Hungary.
As reported, 46 refugees in a truck parked in the blazing sun in the truck parking lot in Nickelsdorf were in agony. The air grew stuffy. By the time the heat in the truck became life-threatening, the tractor was long gone.
After an hour in the cramped cargo hold, the panicked migrants cut open the tarpaulin, climbed out and ran. The Syrians, including women and children, were arrested. Four migrants had to go to hospital or to a clinic. No stranger to the police was behind the wheel of the truck.
