Fatal leisure accident late Tuesday afternoon in Angerberg in the Tyrolean district of Kufstein: an e-biker (54) lost her balance during a trip to an alpine hut and fell 15 meters over steep terrain. The woman was left lying in the woods with serious injuries. The forest path would actually be closed.
According to the police, the devastating accident happened around 5 p.m. The 54-year-old resident drove with an attendant (52) on a closed forest road towards Buchackeralm. Near a steep section, the two took a short break.
Fell over steep 40 degree terrain
When the e-bikers wanted to leave again, the woman lost her balance and then fell over a piece of forest that was up to 40 degrees steep. “The 54-year-old suffered serious injuries and was left lying by a tree,” police said.
Helicopter to the clinic
Her companion immediately made a distress call. “The seriously injured were then treated on site by the emergency doctor, rescued by the Wörgl mountain rescue service with a mountain stretcher and finally taken to the transfer point for the rescue helicopter with the rescue vehicle,” the researchers said.
The locals were then flown to the clinic in Innsbruck.
