Assault – jogger (29) attacked by a man in the city forest

On May 25, a jogger in the “Kaiserwald” in St. Pölten was the victim of an assault. The 29-year-old managed to escape. The police are looking for the unknown perpetrator and are asking the public for information.

At the end of May, a dramatic incident occurred in St. Pölten: While jogging in the “Kaiserwald”, a 29-year-old was attacked by a stranger at around noon on May 25. The man approached the woman and sexually assaulted her. The victim fought back with all his might, a scuffle ensued in which the 29-year-old fell to the ground. The perpetrator did not let go of her, which resulted in “sexually motivated attacks”, as confirmed by the Lower Austrian State Police when asked by “Krone”.

The victim eventually managed to free herself from the clutches of the man and escape. The woman immediately reported the incident and an immediate alarm search initially yielded no results. The previously unknown individual is said to be between the ages of 55 and 65, with a well-groomed appearance, white hair and a white three-day beard, likely a smoker. He was wearing jeans, a white cycling jacket and sneakers. In addition, the perpetrator would have been on the road with an older bicycle – not a mountain bike or e-bike – including a luggage rack.

The state criminal investigation department and the police command of the city of St. Pölten are investigating. Information about finding the unknown perpetrator is requested by calling 059133/ 30 3333.
